About Mission Dispensary South Chicago
Hey, so I wanted to tell you about this place I've been to, it's a cannabis dispensary in Chicago. I was visiting a friend from out of state recently and was super glad I found this spot. When I first went, the staff were very friendly and attentive. I found some good product and deals, and it was really quick and easy to shop. Someone named Rebekah helped me out and honestly made my day. I got a really great deal on 7gs and a free gummy, which I definitely wasn't expecting to get that much bang for my buck! She was really nice and had a great smile. The customer service was honestly great back then. Going back to some earlier thoughts from others, people mentioned they were efficient and quick, especially if you had a medical card, the line was always fast. They used to have a point system that people loved for getting good discounts. The staff were nice, and the online ordering system was easy, with orders always ready by the time you got there. It was described as a clean establishment with knowledgeable employees and a good variety of products. They would ask for ID upon entry and direct you to iPads to select your order, and employees would even come from behind the counter to assist and educate you on products if you didn't know much. Now, things have definitely changed, and not everyone is happy about it. Some feel it's too expensive now. One person gave an update in April 2025 saying they bought the driest weed there two days before, which had them coughing and choking. It seemed like it had been on the shelf too long. They used to love the place but felt it had changed a lot and no longer seemed to be customer first. When they called, the guy on the phone tried to tell them some of their weed can be dry but still smoke good, saying they should be fine. The customer was definitely not fine and wondered why they wouldn't just give an exchange, unless that's all they serve now. Someone else who has been a customer since 2020 absolutely hates the changes. Their industry discount was knocked down from 20% to now 10%. Their points now expire if you don't use them within a certain timeframe, which used to not happen – you'd have them as long as you needed. And the new website? They can't stand it. It's described as so disorganized, stupid, and hard to navigate, really missing the clarity, organization, and better functionality of the old site, and they called it ugly too. They used to happily shop here regularly but now barely come, and that's only because it's the ONLY cannabis dispensary on the South Side of Chicago, which they think needs to change. This person works in the industry and used to send their students, program participants, and neighbors here but doesn't anymore. They feel it doesn't feel as special as it once did because now it operates like all the other low effort, profit over patient driven dispensaries. Despite the big changes, many still say the budtenders are great. They are friendly, courteous, and helpful, and someone mentioned they deserve to be tipped generously if you can, guessing they probably aren't being paid much more than minimum wage. People consistently say there are always great people working here. Emmett and Greg were highlighted as excellent in particular; they are friendly, helpful, and always quick to offer a good deal when available. Their hard work and friendly customer service are appreciated, and some keep coming back because they've earned their patronage. Another person who comes to visit Chicago a lot for family mentioned locals recommended this Mission cannabis dispensary in Chicago to them and they love the place. They found the atmosphere inviting, clean, and laid back. The budtenders were described as ahhmazing, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. And for this person, the product was "🔥" – from the flower to the edibles, even the secret menu pre rolls were "gas," giving it a 10/10. They specifically thanked them for keeping them "faded" while they were visiting, suggesting a good experience for a recreational cannabis dispensary in Chicago visitor. So, while there are definitely mixed reviews and concerns about recent changes in how this cannabis dispensary in Illinois operates compared to how it used to be, the quality of the budtenders seems to remain a strong point for many customers.
