So, I've been hearing a lot about visiting a cannabis dispensary in Chicago lately. It seems like experiences can really run the gamut, from awesome service to some frustrating issues. Walking into a place like an Ascend cannabis dispensary in Chicago, lots of people mention the staff is super nice right away and really makes you feel welcomed. Budtenders are always so friendly, and folks have shouted out specific people like Noe for providing great service. Another budtender, Gage, was called awesome and noted for having cool pins and personality. Someone else mentioned Leo guided them through the menu, making them comfortable enough to try new products they were very pleased with. It sounds like multiple team members welcomed visitors and explained how everything worked. The process on the kiosk seems quick and easygoing for many, and people are impressed with how much there is to choose from – I mean, lots. Some have found it quick and easy with great prices, even calling out having the BEST PRICES IN CHICAGO! Getting assists from budtenders who are always looking out for you is something others appreciate, especially on a second visit. For some, having an awesome experience here is really refreshing after being turned off from other dispensary experiences. It leads people to say they'll definitely be back, maybe even weekly lol. But it's not all smooth sailing. Some feel the prices are insane, saying it's a shame because they used to like the spot, but the staff can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum. There's a strong sentiment from some about wanting to support the neighborhood but feeling places like this make it impossible. The idea that big corporate chains are the absolute worst comes up, with a wish that Illinois would reform their weed laws. Some even feel you're better off just going to Michigan (or anywhere else, really) because of the situation here. Product quality can be a major issue too. Someone went in for a disposable vape cart that was at a good price (they assumed), only to find out why – the cart was defective and had a terrible and I mean horrendous taste! Out of all the years consuming cannabis products, they had never experienced such a bad taste and never expected it from a cannabis dispensary in Illinois. It had a plastic burnt chemical taste, leaving them very disappointed. Trying to reach out to customer service in hopes of a refund or store credit got no response... they felt Ascend finessed them out of $90 because the taste was so bad they didn’t even want to continue smoking it. Online orders have caused problems too. Someone made an online order that was cancelled without their knowledge. Then, when they picked up, the product was manually put into the computer, and they ended up coming home with HALF the weight in flower than they originally ordered and actually paid $3 more than they would have! Trying to call customer service went straight to voicemail. This left them very displeased, especially being on a tight budget. It was their first problem with the dispensary, but now they're very hesitant to return. Price perception is also interesting, especially comparing to other places. Being in from Cali, someone felt spoiled with their weed prices and wasn’t ready to spend $100 on 11 grams. However, they did find the smell and quality taste/high perfect after trying 3 different flavors. There was a special for 3 1/8ths for $75. They acknowledged they were having a great sale until those taxes start taxing. Nonetheless, despite the price point compared to California, they gave it a 10/10 and recommended it. So, it seems like visiting a recreational cannabis dispensary in Chicago definitely comes with a mix of experiences, from excellent service and products to significant disappointments with quality, price, and customer support.
