About Cookies Chicago
Hey, so I was thinking about checking out a cannabis dispensary in Chicago. You know, there's this one place, I actually live in the area and always walked by but never decided to go in until today. I’m like, let me go check this place out since I live in the area. Some people have had really great experiences there. Like, "Great customer service!" and "Have the best prices around! Check out there daily deals." Someone else said, "Great store! Great service. Carmela was amazing and helpful" and "Erica is the shit!!!" Another review mentioned, "Great service and great selections. Vivi and Erica were awesome." People also said it was "Very welcoming and got exactly what I came for." One person was really happy, saying they "Finally made. It's as great in service and product as the reputation. Excellent establishment and brand. May the greatness continues." Someone else thought it was a "Super dope store staff was very helpful I didn’t feel rushed which was important I will be back with friends". They even mentioned arriving on a day they were doing complimentary @fatplatefridays and shouted out #denvercookieboyz YouTube channel sawc_tv. It sounds like it could be a good Cookies cannabis dispensary in Chicago based on some of those reviews. But man, not everyone had a smooth time. One person walked in at 8:40pm, looking for a pre-roll. They were initially told it was too late unless it was an online order, even though it wasn't 9:00pm and there were no customers. They asked to call the manager, and the manager let them in. At first, everything was great. They asked about a first-time customer discount and were told yes, but to sign up next time. The customer insisted on signing up now and using the discount, which happened. The price was great because of the discount. But then things got weird. When the manager went to the back, another lady started helping. The customer wanted another pre-roll because the price was good, and this lady apparently "slammed down the price gun and acted irritated" and seemed irritated for helping. The customer asked why they were slamming things and seemed irritated, and told the other lady they'd rather she help because this lady had an attitude. This customer, a woman of color, felt that the other woman of color should treat her people with respect, and that all customers should be treated with respect. They were "very disappointed in this establishment" and will "not be returning, being my first experience in the dispensary." They were "extremely saddened by the treatment" and felt if they didn’t want to serve them, they should have been turned away. They felt like they "wasn’t wanted at a place where I’m spending money" and advised everyone to "stay away from this dispensary because you will not be treated Like a customer." They said, "You’ve been warned." Another experience was described as "A Disappointing and Discriminatory Experience". This person had an "incredibly frustrating and unpleasant experience at this cannabis store." They were denied entry despite having a "valid Russian driver’s license with an official English translation (valid until 2026)." The staff "scrutinized my ID for an unreasonable amount of time," even calling over another manager. When clarified it was a Russian license, they were "promptly told that I couldn’t enter and was asked to leave the premises." This person felt it was "nothing short of discriminatory," "embarrassing," and "completely unnecessary," especially since their documentation is "valid and recognized elsewhere." They compared it to visiting "two other cannabis stores in the area, where my ID was accepted without any issue, and I received excellent service and product recommendations." They called the store’s lack of professionalism and respect for customers "shocking" and said they will "not returning" and would advise others to "take their business elsewhere to avoid similar treatment." So yeah, it's a mixed bag for this recreational cannabis dispensary in Chicago. It seems like experiences really vary, which is something to think about when choosing a cannabis dispensary in Illinois.
